Old Newspaper Gifts

Our collection of old newspapers has become very popular as birthdays or anniversary presents. We are able to supply an original old newspaper from the virtually any date of your choice, so you can give someone a newspaper from the day they were born or from their wedding date.

The recipient will be able to look back in time to see what was in the news at the time they were born, married, or other special occasions. An old newspaper can arch back in time to connect people with their past, making it a very special gift.

Newspaper Titles Available

We have a wide range of old newspapers available. Many titles have long ceased to exist. Newspapers like the Daily Sketch, the News Chronicle or the Daily Graphic all closed their doors some time ago. However, Historic Newspapers have retained this link to the past, and have archived these old newspaper titles. They were fabulous newspapers in their day, and are likely still to be remembered by the recipient of an old newspaper gift.

We, of course, also have a large archive of newspapers still published today. Many current newspaper titles were first published over two hundred years ago.

  • The Times first appeared as the Daily Universal Register in 1785, before being renamed The Times in 1788
  • The Observer, the UK’s oldest surviving Sunday newspaper was first published in 1791

Other old newspaper titles include:

Personalised Newspaper Gifts

These old newspapers come in a variety of gift presentations, including Gift Boxes, Presentation Folders, Framed, or bound in a Full Size Book between two broadsheet sized hardback covers.

All old newspaper gifts come with a personalised Certificate of Authenticity. It certifies that the gift newspaper is genuine (and not a copy). This certificate can also be personalised with the name of the recipient and a personal message.

Buy Old Newspapers Online

Because these newspaper gifts are so completely bespoke to the order, buying an old newspaper online is the simplest way to do it. Customers select not only the date required, but also the newspaper title. The gift is further personalised through Certificate of Authenticity.

This level of personalisation makes an old newspaper gift impossible to by in a shop. But online it takes just a few clicks on a mouse.
