Stuntman ‘Evel Knievel’ fails in his attempt to rocket across the Snake River Canyon in Idaho.

5th October 1974
Bombs explode at The Horse And Groom and The Seven Stars pubs in Guildford, killing five people. This leads to the wrongful conviction and imprisonment of the ‘Guildford Four’ in 1975.
