At the beginning of your book, there is a sequence of photographs, depicting British citizens and soldiers as they prepare their country for the impending war in 1939. This is followed by the opening articles, which cover the historic meeting of the British Parliament, which decide to mobilise all forces after the Germans invade Poland. Other coverage includes the D-Day landings, the Allied invasion of Italy and the advance into Germany.

Other major engagements across the world also included; the North African campaigns, the fall of Hong Kong and Singapore, the fighting in Burma, and the bombing and surrender of Japan. The book concludes with another wonderful pictorial section with uplifting images of victory and freedom. It’s a reminiscent and remarkable insight into World War Two.
