2009 was certainly a vintage year for record-breaking. In January, Nadya Suleman, later dubbed “Octomom”, gave birth to eight babies, which became the first octuplets to all survive infancy. After defeating Andy Roddick in the Wimbledon final, Roger Federer became the first man to win 15 Grand Slam titles. In December, Avatar surpassed another of its director James Cameron’s films, Titanic, to become the highest-grossing motion picture of all-time.

2009 also brought one of the most newsworthy celebrity deaths ever, as the King of Pop Michael Jackson passed away at his home at the age of 50.

Two newspapers

Two newspapers, which I needed for research purposes, arrived promptly and are very useful. I keep all the clippings in a beautiful red box which I ordered with my first purchase from Historic Newspapers. As long as you have a specific date, you can order any newspaper you want; and it arrives quickly with a certificate of authentication (I keep all the certificates in my box too).
