If for example, your chosen date was 23rd August 1965, this will be the first front page to appear. After that, it’ll be 23rd August 1966, then ‘67, ‘68 and so on, all the way through until the present day, making this retirement newspaper book a story of the individual’s entire life.

The thickness of the retirement book will also depend greatly on the age of the recipient, or date chosen, so we especially include ‘remember when’ pages. Opposite each front page reprint is a ‘remember when’ page for the recipient to add photos and messages relating to that specific year. You can even choose to have the recipient’s Name and Date of Birth embossed in foil on the cover of the hand-bound book.

Ordering for an occasion after 1998? Your occasion newspaper book will include twenty-five historical newspaper front pages, with each page followed by a ‘remember when’ page to allow you to add those extra special memories into the book. Don’t worry though, their date of birth will still be the date embossed on the cover. 

The newspaper book’s content is taken from past issues of the Daily Mirror, and are therefore in a tabloid sized format, measuring a remarkable 38 x 31cm. The beautiful made to order book is then hand bound in a choice of high-quality hardback covers.

The Daily Mirror is Britain’s best-selling post-war newspaper up to the 1970s since it was established in 1903. Through broad journalistic content, including photographs (something many competing titles didn’t utilise), advertisements etc. The Daily Mirror provides superior insight into the past.

Please note: The Mirror was on strike from 26th March 1955 through to 20th April 1955. Should your chosen birth date fall within the strike period, we’ll insert a page into your Retirement Edition Newspaper Book explaining that there were no papers available on that date.

Please note: The occasion newspaper book will only include newspapers up to 2022. There will be occasions (very rarely) when a front page for your exact date isn’t available. For example, no newspapers are printed on Christmas Day, Good Friday and during strikes, in which case a front page from the day after will be used.
