The Browns began in the All-American Football Conference when they dominated the league and won the championship in all four seasons. The team joined the NFL in 1950 and their success continued, since they won the championship that year and twice more in the five years that followed. Incredibly, every one of their first ten professional seasons led to a league championship game! However, the NFL/AFL merger had quite a difficult effect on the team’s success. Plagued by their relocation to Baltimore in the nineties and subsequent readmission but failure to build winning teams, the Browns are one of two teams to never reach a Super Bowl.
