The 2022/23 season saw the Fighting Irish get past the Gamecocks in the highest-scoring Gator Bowl of all time, relive the record-breaking game in this historic newspaper book. The 2020-21 season was an agonising one for the University of Notre Dame football team. After a 10-1 season, the Fighting Irish were ranked fourth in the nation and were consequently selected for the College Football Playoffs. But ultimately, the team would fall to Alabama in the Rose Bowl, the same fate the 2019 team faced, losing to Clemson in the Cotton Bowl after an undefeated season.
But it wasn’t always like this. Historically, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program is one of the most successful in America; indeed, despite competing outside of the conference system, only Alabama has had more national championships since the start of the polling era, way back in 1936. And now, with our new Notre Dame football book, you can relive some of the most memorable matches from South Bend and beyond, from 1925 to the present. Dive deep into the history of a team with 22 championship selection years, seven Heisman Trophy winners, and Pro Football Hall of Fame alumni such as Jerome Bettis and Joe Montana.
