Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and consort of Queen Elizabeth II, dies aged 99.

George Floyd’s murderer, police officer Derek Chauvin is found guilty of all charges, making him the first white Minnesota police officer to be convicted of murdering a black person. He was later sentenced to almost 23 years in prison.

The UK lifts most COVID-19 restrictions on what was dubbed “Freedom Day”, despite 50,000 new daily infections.
